We love our hall very much and as it’s been our family home for so many years, it always feels warm and welcoming, however, it’s a space that lends itself to being full of people and it comes alive with a party atmosphere. We’re sure it’s been this way for centuries!
That’s why we love our open days so much. To see the rooms full of life and buzzing with the excitement of couples viewing Talhenbont for the first time is so fulfilling. Our Spring Wedding Open day was no different. After the snow of recent weeks, there is a feeling that warmer weather is coming and spring is in the air!
Our key suppliers, such as the wonderful Cheeky Chilli Caterers and Springbank Flowers, arrived the night before to set up. The smell of delicious canapés and the stunning displays that Springbank create filled the hall and really gave couples an indication of what to expect from their big day. With the ever-knowledgeable Simon from Liberty Wines to offer advice and tastings, it was a great way to work out what wines and fizz you want and when throughout your day. Kim from Cheeky Chilli was able to talk couples through a few suggestions and work with those who were open to ideas and wow them with just what you can offer your guests. The canapés on offer gave just a hint of the standard that Kim and her team achieve.
Love Clic Imagery were on hand to capture the day on film and through their inventive images. They also showcased the creative packages they can put together for couples, making the most of the stunning backdrop of the hall and grounds. The hall was dressed as it could be for a Spring wedding with swathes of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and more in every room.
There was expert advice on how the bride could look from top fashion designer Matthew O’Brien. His creative designs were on display in our beautiful master suite. The award-winning Moncrieffe team showed how you can use a few hair and makeup techniques to ensure that every bride looks her best on her big day. Thalasso Therapy Spa services are also an option for a bridal party looking for a pampering. The lovely Wonderland Event Creche were able to reassure couples looking to invite children along to their wedding, that they could be in safe hands during the day and have an immense amount of fun at the same time. It’s a great service that means that little ones can be involved without distracting from the main event!
The ever-popular, award-winning Hayley’s Piped Dreams cakes were on display with delicious samples available to take away and try, plus samples from wedding stationers Your Days by Design. The mood for the day and ambience was further enhanced by the fantastically talented harpist Dylan Rowlands who played in the Vaughan Room, which was set for a ceremony.
The whole event was hugely enjoyable not only for those who attended but for Paul and I as a couple. We’d like to thank all of you who came along and were so pleased that so many took one look at Talhenbont and decided it was their perfect venue! If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry. Look out for more Wedding Open Day dates coming in 2018. Watch this space!
